When I’m in interviews, I always cringe with the first question: What can you tell me/us about yourself?
Afterall, it is just a variation of the ultimate question that all of us ask ourselves: Who am I?
What a way to start this page.
So I will answer questions instead:
WHO ARE YOU?
My name is Arbet Wong Bernardo, I’m half-Chinese/half-Filipino, and I reside in the northern Metro Manila area.
HOW DO YOU LOOK LIKE?

WHAT DO YOU BLOG ABOUT?
Hmm…. recently I did a split of my main interests. When I started this blog, everything I discuss were posted here. But I saw the light, and found it would be better to split things up.
So, on this blog I post my thoughts about my country, the Philippines - its culture, society, and politics. The blog posts may stray from the locale from time to time.
WHEN DID YOU START BLOGGING?
I started this blog August 2005. But I was already blogging way before that, on free blog servers. I started in EasyJournal, and then on Blurty, and on LiveJournal. I had also tried the Friendster blog, but I hated it, so it is discontinued. My LiveJournal blog contains (aside from entries crossposted from here) personal notes, most of them friends-only, though.
I also blog at The Geeky Guide to Nearly Everything.
WHAT ARE YOUR EDUCATION CREDENTIALS?
I graduated with a computer science degree from AMA Computer College.
I wrote for the college paper. I started as Associate Editor then I resigned because I was working part time then. They made me at certain points in time Guest Editor and Senior Writer, writing a column titled X-Rated and Triple X-Rated (an X-Rated reboot).
In between school work and college paper duties, I was assistant coordinator for the varsity team (in charge of allowance liquidation), president of a student organization, and adviser to some other orgs.
WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS?
My weekends are usually spent on reading and re-reading books at home, playing PlayStation 2 and GameCube, watching WWE shows or news shows (movies very rarely), or visiting some friends. Or sleeping.
I am using WinAmp, and it usually plays J-pop/J-rock, anime-related music, and classical.
From time to time, you can see me at the mall, either alone or with friends. Rarely with someone, though.
WHAT CAN YOU TELL ABOUT YOUR WORK EXPERIENCES?
Right after graduation, I started teaching for a tech-voc school. After three years, worked for a network and Internet security software company as a technical writer for more than a year. Right now, I am a technical writer for an Internet communications software company.
During the last years in college, I worked part time for another tech-voc school. Was a volunteer teacher for a university’s open system in Tondo.

ADDENDUM:
I think I have explained the reasons why I have four blogs and contributes for another, but another, more lengthy explanation is called for.
I began blogging at EasyJournal, and then I migrated to Blurty. Blurty limits you to ten friends only, which was sad. Then a friend invited me to LiveJournalt, which was then exclusive: before you can create your blog, you need to be invited by a member, and a member can only invite one. I made a blog at Tabulas when LJ experience a several-day outage; like the previous blogs, it is dead.
In 2005, I had decided to get my own domain, and thus AWBHoldings.com was born. This domain then hosted Blog@AWBHoldings.com, a blog that hosted my political and technical posts. The LiveJournal blog, The Lonely Vampire Chronicles, mirrored the contents of the said blog, plus it contained personal posts that are locked for LJ friends.
In 2006, I joined the Geeky Guide to help out Rocky and at the same time increase exposure to my domain. At the same time, I had decided to split my blog according to interest. Blog@AWBHoldings.com remains the repository of politically and socially-oriented posts, while TechWatch@AWBHoldings.com contains totally tech-related posts (some of which are mirrored at the Geeky Guide).
And to give a human face to AWBHoldings.com, I had decided to re-launch The Lonely Vampire Chronicles (shortly after iBlog3). Here I post personal entries that I feel is safe for general reading. As they say, there are unbloggable things, and for those, I blog at LiveJournal.
So there. Hopefully this gives you a clear picture of who I am.
(And yes, I also have a mirror at Multiply. =P )

Short Biography of Emmanuel S. Vistro
Emmanuel Vistro was born on the 11th of November 1981 in Quezon City, Metro Manila Philippines. He graduated in 1995 from elementary and proceeded to continue his high school studies at the University of Saint Tomas (University of Sto. Tomas) high school. (USTHS) At this time he acquired his first IBM Compatible Personal Computer as a gift for graduating from elementary.
During his 2 year stay, he was kicked out of USTHS due to his rebellious attitude and non-Catholic views in 1997. He was re-enrolled in another Catholic based high school where he was again kicked out due to rebellious activities and punching the principal for cutting his hair in 1998.
During the same year he took an Advanced Placement Test from the Department of Higher Education where he passed the high school level and could continue on to college without any credentials from high school. He skipped one whole year of high school and was ready for college. During his free time until the next batch of college entries were accepted, he started to learn HTML scripting and went on to do small jobs for small companies.
He was deciding to return to UST for his college education and start fresh in the realm of Fine Arts. During that time he had upgraded from his first computer by working on several small jobs to an Intel Celeron 400 Mhz. His computer enthusiasm led him to another college and another line of work which was Computer Programming.
Emmanuel also called Em or Eman during this time enrolled in one of Asias First and Largest Computer College, AMA Computer College. He left his passion of art and opted for a profitable career during this time. He stayed for 6 years in a 3 year course due to constantly failing college mathematics with the likes of Discreet Mathematics and Assembly Language Programming. He published the first PC game ever developed in a college in 2003. Then in April of 2006 he moved to Canada to pursue greater opportunities and left the programming world.
In September of 2006 he enrolled in the School of Communication Arts, Digital Media Arts at Seneca@York. He successfully passed the examinations and proceeded to return to college in January of 2007 after missing the first week of classes.
In April of 2007 he and several of his good friends from Seneca@York started a creative collective called Provoke Digital Media Solutions. He now looks to Craig’s List Toronto to fund his daily living. He is now called “Manny” by all his Canadian peers and lives with this Mother, Father and Sister who sponsored him to migrate to Canada.
