Flash is now a MUST for programmers, gone are the days that Flash is just a vector animation tool. You’d be surprised how powerful Adobe Flash is.
These are some of the major features I can say and have discovered recently:
1.) CSS can format a Flash layout (an external CSS file can format Flash content)
2.) PHP/MySQL integration
3.) XML/RSS reader and using CSS to format the RSS feed.
Here’s a video of my professor having a “free” seminar.
His name is Brendan Sera-Shriar…he has published several books and is one of the best teachers around. All it takes is Adobe Flash, a bottle of beer and a few laughs and you’re good to go in the industry. >:E
Here’s one of the projects he did for Seneca@York (Ontario, Canada) just to benefit the students.
Backspace Studios is one of the companies that he runs.
So to all techies out there…you’d better start learning Flash or else…you’re gonna be blown away by the competition.

Funny. Yesterday, I was asking myself if a Flash-based Wordpress theme is even possible. Now, if only I can get hold of Adobe Flash…
dude TORRENTS!!! omygar! it’s worth every second of download.
As if I have a fast net connection. =P
A Flash-based Wordpress theme? But why?
But why not?
Funny, because I feel quite ambivalent about Adobe Flash.
I like that they have fixed the pen tool. It now works like the pen tool in other Adobe applications, and though pen tools aren’t quite a necessity among Flash animators, the upgrade is praiseworthy.
I don’t like the changes they did to the Actionscript though.
On the contrary, Flash Animators here in Canada are Pen Tool Hogs and as one of them I really use it a lot specially in Illustrator. Paths in Illustrator CS3 could easily be re-edited in Flash CS3.
Well you could still use AS2.0, but the power of AS3.0 using XML and MXML…you could program animation via XML/MXML and export them into Flash as AS3.0 animations. It’s a big leap and the North American web industry is making AS3.0 the standard.
So I guess PH web-programmers and designers should upgrade their knowledge.
